Description to the work: Honestly, I rarely questioned my privilege until recently. I have never had to think about whether I experience structural discrimination because of the color of my skin, my sexuality, my gender, my religion, or my physical characteristics. At the same time, we should be aware that not everyone* benefits from this system. It is important that we talk more about discrimination mechanisms and recognize and perceive structural discrimination as such. My picture shows my idea of a world in which everyone is allowed to find and take his/her place. It does not show a rigid construct, but a flexible and tolerant structure that connects us all across countries and cultures, but also recognizes and promotes us as individuals. I would like to see a place where diversity and peace go hand in hand. So let's talk about it! Because - whatever peace ultimately looks like for the individual - no one should be denied the right to it, because of their membership in a minority group.
